haha, I learned (learnt) English in the U.S. so I guess I learned (learnt) American, it just seems to be the common way of spelling for Americans with ed rather than t. Im guessing my humo(u)r is slightly different from yours as you don't seem to be getting my jokes, or perhaps you're being friendly and I'm interpreting you as being somewhat hostile. And being that English is my second language as with many many others on this site you should avoid being over-critical of small writing mistakes.
I suggest you type in "learned" and "learnt" in the search function and you will discover that there are only 175 posts with the word learnt and 500 (max count) of posts with "learned".
