it's been hell finding a jacket, i got a north face denali, it looks cool but it's not warm enough for midwest winters and I got a hole in my right pocket after just 1 year.

Got a nice peacoat, but its also not warm enough and its annoying to wear cos it goes down to my mid-thigh which makes reaching for my wallet in my backpocket annoying and in general the side pockets are not pragmatic. I recently bought a parka that looks really nice and is warm, but it's leaking feathers like crazy so I am going to return it also I saw how they rip feathers off live ducks and even though companies will say "responsible down/no live plucking" they still source through suppliers that live pluck!

I want something that is standard length (like to my waist, not down to me knees or mid-thigh) warm enough to walk to my car and drive in 10 degrees F without shivering while only wearing a tee shirt underneath, preferably with a flat fold down collar rather than one that stick up against my throat and hits my chin like all jackets seem to have these days.

thanks!
