Hi!

I am getting a Tuxedo tailored overseas, but am a little unsure about the trouser measurements that I should give. I have a pair of trousers that fit absolutely perfectly, and I want to use the measurements from these to get the same fit - but I understand that tuxedo pants are supposed to be worn higher on the waist. How can I adjust the measurements that I have to achieve the same fit higher on my waist?

hi soupnazi,

you'll mainly need to increase the outseam length and the rise of the pants. therefore, if you're wearing the pants an inch or so higher, you'll need to increase the outseam and rise by an inch too.

however, i'd recommend to wear tuxedo pants at the same location as your other pants. there's no fixed rule. go what you're comfortable with.

hope this helps.

Thanks. I certainly would be much more comfortable sending them the measurements of my existing pants, since I know they fit so well - just that I read that tuxedo pants should be worn to your naval. Will stick with my current measurements if that's the case :)

It shouldn't matter, to be honest. The waistband should never be exposed.
