I have job interviews coming up in January and have a Brooks Brothers 1818 Madison suit. It's pretty baggy everywhere and I probably would not buy the same model again, but it's what I've got. Please tell me what to tell the tailor as far as alterations go. I also have a Ralph Lauren Blazer which I think fits pretty well and would like to hear opinions. Blazer:

Yeah, that suit definitely won't earn you any brownie points. It's massive.

The blazer is better, but still not worthy job interview attire. Are you sure there is no way for you to get a different suit in time?

That's what I was really afraid of. The shoulders seem ok to me, but the body is very loose and baggy. Which as I understand it is pretty flexible.

The suit isn't too large imo. The shoulders and chest seem to fit okay, but not perfect. It's hard to tell if the shoulders will work, but I think you can tailor the other parts of the suit easily

Ask for some moderate waist supression. Shorten sleeves to show 1/4 to 1/2 inch of cuff. Collar needs adjustment to decrease rippling below the collar. Jacket could be shortened a bit but if it's just barely covering your rear end, then I'd leave it be.

Trousers should be tapered more, the break looks fine.

Fit around the neck seems good.

You might want to take the blazer into the tailor with you and tell him you want the suit to look more like the blazer, if possible.

If you decide to size down to a smaller size, ensure that the chest fits because I doubt you'll be able to size down without having lapel-buckling issues, and an even worse collar ripple below the neck

Furo,

I'm not going to comment on the OP's fit, but i just wanted to acknowledge that recently you've been one of the only posters to consistently try and help people out with detailed critiques in fit threads, bravo!
