Pants (Suit) Slimming the Leg Width

So after searching SF, I confirmed that is is indeed possible to do what I was looking to do... slim down the legs (thighs are fine) of a few loose off-the-rack suits to a more semi-Euro/slim fit to where they are not hovering over my shoes and appear baggy.

What I wanted to ask is what questions should I ask my tailor/be aware of when having this done? I've seen posts where people say to make sure they slim from the seam (inside) to maintain the crease? I would (obviously) like to have it so it appears as it was "made that way with the suit" and not some after-market add-on. The pants are all non-pleated so guessing it would be easier.

What should I expect to pay for something like this?

yes it can be done - but with caution. IIRC, it has to be done at all seams, to maintain the drape of the trousers as is.

also, need to consider the position of the pockets and any pleats (if applicable)
