Got to say, having tried some New Yorkers for the first time this month, that they’re incredibly comfortable. Thanks for the info on the thread.

The way the seat is cut suits me better than anything bar possibly my old battered pair of Gramicci G pants - I spend very little time in an office these days and most of my working time in the house so they’re the perfect smart casual trade off.

The ‘special’ versions also seem to have a wider leg opening as a rule - less tapered - I have massive calves so I’ve gone with them and let go of the standard ones.

But you probably already all know that.

Which “special” versions do you have? I’m interested in the Kafka pairs.

Yeah two pairs of the Kafka Mercantile ones - navy ripstop and navy herringbone. They’re a slightly straighter leg.

I’ve iterated through trousers since the start of the pandemic - settled on Universal Works Track Pants as the “almost perfect” option, but these are just cut better aren’t they?

Got my New Yorkers (shorts) today from Withered Fig who I was quite impressed with. Definitely happy I went size 5 at a 36" waist and semi large thighs. My original order was for a size 4, that would've been rough. Crazy the measurement discrepancy out there so happy WF did such a good job on it!

Hi! I have two questions regarding potential shrinkage with orslow products. I am hoping there are orslow veterans here that can give some valuable tips. I bought two orslow products today, one chambray work shirt size 2, and one tropical jacket size 1. Both are just long enough in the arm, and I’m afraid that shrinkage more than say 1cm will make it to short. What do you guys think? I’ll attach two photos, and if you have comments regarding fit in general that is also appreciated.

Take care!

To be honest, the jacket looks a little tight on the shoulder anyway, so you may want to size up. I can't speak to the shrinking, I'm afraid.

I have the chambray work shirt and it shrunk a little bit, which I don't think is surprising. I always expect a little bit of shrinkage with cotton garments.

I personally would size up the jungle jacket because of the sleeve length and just overall comfort with more room in the shoulders and chest area.

+1 on the jacket size. The pulling and puckering over the chest, and the slight hourglass silhouette towards the waist, all say to me that the next size up would probably be right for you.

I haven't tried Orslow's version of the jungle jacket. But the original is relaxed fitting, straight up and down. It is quite long in the body though not in the sleeves... FYI, in case that helps you understand how it might be supposed to fit.

The shirt looks better to me. I'd probably stick with it. Although a size up might be fine as well. It's workwear after all.

+1 on expecting all cotton garments to shrink a few mm over their lifetime. My Orslow chambray probably has done that, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Looks like you've got some margin in the sleeves, as far as I can tell from the picture.

regular. just assuming those holes are ~1" apart (standard), they have a 9" leg opening w/ roughly 15"-16" waist
dude you were able to get all that from just one picture? thats insane! haha these are a size 2 (M) so yeah the waist is pretty much spot on

So from OrSlow instagram account it seems they started new Company that will take off in 2025, called Wolsro (OrSlow backwards), and to me it seems that this is their answer to moving production out of Japan? I compared the labels from which that seems evident. I am wondering if now it will be 2 separated brand, one still Made in Japan and the other in China, or OrSlow will just be done after 20 years and we will only have Wolsro from next year.
