First of all, allow me to say hello to everyone. This is my first post of many I reckon.........Anyhow,

After watching Casino Royale on the hard drive the other night, I could'nt help the impulse to purchase a Brioni DB on ebay. I wanted to get everyone's opinion as far as authenticity (since it's my first time with this seller) and just general positive or negative opinions. Thanks and please be brutally honest.

I think it's a bit expensive and I think the seller is full of ****. Price, $3800 + tax = $4900?

Yeah it'd be closer to $4600. (If bought in New York.)

Seller is legit. If you are happy with the suit, then it's a nice deal.

I like that silhouette in a DB; I have a similar Brioni DB myself.

Used you could do better for price, I've seen quite a few at a local (DC) resale shop for under $200.

Nice suit. Don't feel like you really overpaid. Things to consider with price are the frequency you see something you like and in your size. Granted, this seems like an impulsive purchase. Chances are, you may have gotten a better deal, but who knows how long you would have had to wait and how much luck you'd need. Wear it in good health!

If the retail is $3800, and you are saying the total cost would be $4600 in NYC, then the tax is $800.

That's 17.39% tax. I've been gone from NYC for many years, but surely NYC Sales Taxes aren't that high! Are they?

Looks like a beautiful suit. And it looks in near new condition.

If it fits you nicely or can be tailored to fit you well, than you will get a lot of wear out of it.

I bought a very similar Brioni except an SB on Ebay a year ago. It looks like a very similar or the same material. It turned out to be a wonderful fabric with a great drape and I quite enjoy wearing it.

Enjoy!

The price in the body of the auction was obviously a mistake/typo. That suit would probably be just over 5k these days including the sales tax. The seller knows what he is talking about.

Would you mind telling us what was wrong with the fit? Were the original measurements of the seller incorrect? WRT price - I consider my ebay-purchased $599 used Brioni in perfect shape that fit perfectly upon receipt to be a spectacular deal. Thus, if this is in as good as shape as it looks and it fits, its not an awful deal at 799 (of course, that ignores the "ebay tax" impact of all those other purchases that were not so perfect!)
