I never upsize, also, merino and cashmere should never be washed with traditional even natural detergents as the enzymes breakdown the fibers and strip them of their natural oils causing pilling, removing the natural sheen, and causing a overall hairy and worn appearance. You should use a dedicated specialty merino and cashmere wash. There are plenty on Amazon and they work very well.

I appreciate the advice. I am rather new to fine knits.

I’m planning on purchasing some specialty cashmere detergent for my cashmere knits. I’ve also read that Woolite dark detergent is recommended for wool. However, are you suggesting getting a special merino wash for merino wool in particular?

Any chance you can comment on just how much shrinkage you experienced with the cotton/silk polos? Just bought my first one and I sized up because the last polo I bought was from Sunspel and it damn near shrinked a whole size (practically lost an inch in the chest). That being said, sizing up in the Susu polo gives it quite an oversized fit and I reckon if it does not shrink after all it will never work. Thank you in advance
I'd say maybe half a size tops, but the fit was perfect before washing.
The only other bummer, because they've held up well, is that the placket became kind of floppy.
I need to at least button the bottom button now, or it folds in on itself with normal movement.

Need to lightly press knitwear thru an ironing cloth when it is slightly damp for it to regain its shape nicely, including, placket, button holes, etc
