There are some people out there who have made pretty big names for themselves in streetwear and denim circles for their extreme attention to detail and uncompromising quality. Roy Slaper, Hiro and Ryo of Ooe Yofukuten, Ben Viapiana, as well as a few others immediately come to mind, and are amazing for not only their top tier products, but for being solely responsible for the garment production process from beginning to end. They source the materials, cut the fabric, sew everything themselves, and the truly great makers do so with skill and precision most people could only ever dream of.
Unfortunately, a lot of these craftsmen remain pretty unknown and unrecognized. I only just recently discovered Grease Point Workwear, the one man brand run by Amos Culbertson, who brings a refreshingly utilitarian approach to his clothing, and White Kloud Custom Boots is probably the best boot maker in the world you've never heard of. It's unfortunate that this kind of quality and passion remains hidden to so many people that would truly appreciate it. So I'm hoping this thread can be a directory for people who would like to find these artists and makers. If you know of a craftsman that works independantly or with only a select few to produce the best products in their field, be it denim jeans, leather jackets, felt hats, etc, list them hear.
P.S. I'm actually searching for a craftsman in this vein specializing in shirts made from fabrics other than denim. Specifically, a hardy, work-purposed, unbrushed flannel shirt. Not being able to find anyone is what inspired this thread.
