Could our NYC residents explain the Easter parade? Do the spectators get dressed up, or are these people in the parade? It's very cool either way.

A portion of 5th Avenue is closed to vehicular traffic and all persons who wish may stroll the avenue. Some come dressed extremely well, some come in more "periody" looks - but still dressed well, some come dressed as typcial Americans - not dressed so well.

All are welcome and, as far as I can tell, it is one of NYC's more unstructured events.

I see the pic of the guy in seersucker and the boater, but did you see the two younger chaps in the same? One even wore spats. They both looked really good.
