Its a balmy 5 degrees here today (41F) so I decided maybe a spring look to help get rid of the rest of the snow.

I'm not very fashion forward (still learning) so I definitely appreciate any comments you guys can give me, to help me develop 'my style' as opposed to having what I call 'cookie cutter' style.

Shirt is Brooks Brothers
Sweater is Gap
Shoes are Zegna (They may look black, but they are brown)

Some criticisms:

-Sweater is way too short
-Chinos are too baggy
-Shirt is too bulky and makes the sweater puff out
-collar is pretty high on that shirt for the sweater

What you can do:

-Buy slimmer sweaters and slimmer shirts
-Buy Tall sizes from mall brands like Gap, BR as far as sweaters go
-Buy slimmer chinos

Also, the shoes look like they're off but I'd have to see the entire fit in one shot to figure that out.

Jet & JD, I have a question about that, since this is something I'm trying to figure out myself. They say brown shoes go with grey pants, but I too usually find that it doesn't work all that well except in cases where the shoes are suede, or if the brown is lighter. Cordovan seems to work better with most greys IMO.

In this pic below, would your eyes be really drawn to the shoes as well? Or is the effect diminished with trousers?

Grey with brown looks really bad alot of the times, IMO, because you have two neutrals competing. Generally I think it works best with a reddish/burgundy/cordovan brown, and least well with a yellowish/beigeish brown. It also helps to have a clear difference in value, with the brown being much darker.

I am not inherently opposed to grey and brown (it depends on the relative shade and even more on the texture of the pants, maybe even shoes if they're suede), I just thought PP's fit had some very unsaturated shades going on with faded greys and a blue vest with some grey in it that the sudden full, sharp brown on his feet was sort of intrusive. Not a major issue, more of a nitpick.

I was under the impression the sweater should just cover the belt, possibly an inch or 2 below?

Thanks for the feedback!
