Heads up, the shipping cost is outrageous!
Hmm... I ordered from them earlier this year (Bottega Veneta belt) and don’t remember that.

Edit:, ah, to the EU. Yeah, that makes sense.

They also charge $85 shipping to Canada which is absurd since it's only 10% more than they charge to ship to Australia. If they are US-based, that is indefensible.

The postage was outrageous, but the package did get from Ohio to Sussex in 3 days when I ordered recently. I did make a point though that the most DHL quoted me to send the same parcel back, hypothetically, was £27.

I believe Moda will no longer be selling menswear once they clear out their current stock, so their strategy appears to have shifted. Shipping prices have gone up as their discounts have increased. I'm in the US, so haven't been quoted anything too ridiculous, but I know that shipping was free in the early Spring, but has since gone from $10 to $15 to $20 on my most recent order a few days back.

I've always liked a lot of what they stock--they had a few really good designers and generally made some good buys from those designers--so I'm sorry that they'll be leaving the space.

yeah it used to be free over $100 (or some relatively low amount), but now it's $15 and is only free over $500

All of this is moot because their current prices are so low that even if they charged $100 shipping you'd still be getting a steal. And a few stores a just plain refusing to ship outside of their own country for various reasons that are outside their control (increased costs, increased delivery times, angry and entitled customers...)

Yeah, I get the impression that they're deliberately disincentivizing certain kinds of purchases as well. They want to clear their remaining stock, but aren't shuttering altogether, so don't need to do a fire sale full of low-value, single-item shipments.

This can be effective, I think. As I already had an item I wanted from them in the cart, but (irrationally) felt that the relatively low cost of the item didn't justify the shipping, I found something else to buy that reduced the proportion of how much I was spending went to shipping. Again, my behavior was irrational, as I would still have purchased if shipping was factored into item cost and therefore apparently "free," but they made me spend more by making shipping a separate, flat cost. If it had been Mr. Porter, I would have checked out with the single item.
