Might consider letting this go in size Large. Indigo open weave BS from SS’21. Only reason is cause I have the Filed shirt in the same fabric. Pristine condition, no flaws, never washed etc. Reach out if interested - not if you want to low ball lol.

Out of curiosity, what designers did you have in mind re: better price point? Because EK is one on the more reasonable side given the textile quality from what I've seen and experienced.

It's great to hear what other people have to say. Appreciate everyone's thoughts. I'm still not sold on EK. Have had a few things of his over the past couple years, but only the wool corduroy bellow jacket has found a home in my closet. I love oversized and anti-fit, but most of the EK things I've tried on just don't look good on me. Proportions, drape, length and so on are off. Often can't get past the french seams on the shoulders, which are sometimes messy and bunched because of material type, and ruins the drape and fit on me. Love most of the fabrics he uses, but other designers use comparable materials at a better price point. And I'm undecided on the blotchy dyed stuff. Persimmon seems to be popular this season, and a handful of other designers have better looking fabrics. In the end, the overall quality to price ratio isn't cutting it for me.

Latest editions just dropped. This thread dead? So quiet here
I think a lot of the chatter moved to Discord.

Similar to @Blackmaged, curious to hear what brands you find as viable alternatives. I think I have a sentimentality for Evan as one of the few designers in the Pacific Northwest. He captures the regions aesthetic, selects beautiful fabrics, creates flattering silhouettes, and has rock-solid construction. The price points have always struck me as fair, albeit higher than other brands, but that may have more to do with the stores that carry him than the actual price points. He could probably scale and raise prices (ie $850 Field Shirt, $700 Big Shirt) and still do well in stores like SSENSE, Matches Fashion tbh.

To sorta answer your question, off the top of my head:

For knitwear, I like Andersen-Andersen. Their fabrics and knits are substantial. They even have a cardigan similar to EK’s. For softer knits with more drape, I like some of Margaret Howell's things these days.

For sweats, I like House of Blanks, Roopa’s house brand, who makes sweats for countless brands, including Supreme and ALD. Their garment-dyed items are comparable to LWC/EK.

For tops and bottoms, orSlow and Engineered Garments fill my wardrobe, with a sprinkling of South2 West8, Kaptain Sunshine, Post O’Alls, Margaret Howell, Lemaire, Yohji.

For a beautiful fabric in persimmon, Kaptain Sunshine has some sweet overalls this season.

For small batches of handmade and hand-dyed items, Tender does some nice things.

For materials, ts(s) and 1st Pat-Rn are worth a look, and of course orSlow.

For big shirts, 1st Pat-Rn, Kaptain Sunshine and *A Vontade have some kinda comparable shirts.

For cropped and casual pants, there’s 7115 and again orSlow.

As you prob know, shops like Neighbour, Glasswing, No Man Walks Alone, Reggie, Bureau Belfast and Kafka Mercantile have lots of designers that compare in one way or another to Evan Kinori.

This is all understandably real subjective. Difficult to compare apples to apples, or even figure out what are apples and what are oranges. Not ******** on anyone’s style. Or even Evan Kinori. I’ll continue to pick and choose from what he has to offer, hope to find a second-hand deal, but a lot of it is not for me. Most of the time, I just can't get past his use of french seams.

Has anyone been able to make an appointment for a store visit? If so, how long does it typically take to get a reply back and how was the experience?

hi everyone, sorry totally missed some DMs about invites. ek discord is very active.
currently we are only accepting members based on recommendation basis by people that are already on the cord and/or SF.
so its unlikely we will accept very new members with no history on SF and/or existing members. not trying to be elitist or whatever, just found this has been working so far.
i know it sucks but gotta do what it takes to keep the cord ecosystem alive. if you want to discuss further, pls dm me at @ambyance on IG, NOT sf bc its hard to check here. thank you.
