Obama's Tan Suit Scandal

While I have nothing against tan suits, and agree that this coverage is all pretty silly, I do think Obama's example demonstrates why tan suits should be worn with a bit more care and thougth.

Leaving aside the poor fit of his suit, it's often tough to find the right shade of tan in a suit - the color of Obama's suit is fairly flat and monochromatic - a deeper brown-ish tan would be far more attractive. Just as importantly, the shirt + tie + shoe combination is critical to getting the whole look right. While the Prez's white shirt is good, he should have gone for a black knit or navy grenadine instead.

Pretty stupid meme. None of his suits are very flattering, but this one wasn't any worse than the rest.

Doesn't Martin Greenfield make his suits?

I disagree - his everyday suits are actually pretty decent. Maybe not up to iGent standards, but certainly nicer than what most people (and most past presidents) have gone with.

His tan suit was markedly worse in fit.

I believe his suits are made by H. Freeman.

Tan suit with a white shirt is tough look to get right. Not sure how to make it work with his complexion.

Obama could have done worse. He could have copied one of Churchill's "Siren Suits"

It's funny that half the pictures this blog posted of "tan" suits are SC/blazer combo's...

I don't find it better or worse than his other suits. And I like the tan suit/white shirt combo myself, although I agree it might be hard to find occasions to wear it (unless you live in Miami or something).

I'm pretty sure most of the people ranting on the suit are poor dresser themselves.

Obozo is a lunatic, needs to wear a straight jacket, in tan, of course.
