He's like Aportnoy, but with ****** taste:
...I buy mostly crocodile.

Do you have a favorite pair?
A cognac Lattanzi lace-up crocodile with a square toe.
Still impressive though.

Yeah, enough ragging on kitonbrioni.

I agree, some of those pairs are mighty suspect, and I think the Hermes belt is remarkably tacky, but they are not all bad.

The picture in the mag is about three times the size as the above.

I'll take his money, I'll pass on his taste.

Also note: at least they all have trees.

Sure, but out of 500 pair, I'm more inclined to chalk that up to the law of averages than any good taste on his part.

My winning caption....

"Oh, so that's where Kenneth Cole discovered the square toe!"

I agree that collection on average looks horrible given the wealth behind it.

Looking at the print version now. I'll give the guy credit for using shoe trees.
Also, the picture of him in the magazine is very tiny, smaller than the average person's thumb. That's probably for the best. He would be considered well-dressed in Las Vegas I guess.

And we wonder why so many Lattanzi and other high-end Italian shoes are so ugly - it's because many of the people who can afford them have taste like this.

On the opposite page, NY Mag recommends, for those interested in "deluxe" footwear, Dries Van Noten white patent wingtips (for the "extreme fashion lover"); Alden cordovan punch-cap oxfords (although since they're idiots they call it a "blucher"), for the "serious banker"; Church's captoe double monks for the "Dandy" (at the bargain price of $615), and John Varvatos lace-up boots ($365) for the "Media Type." Of course, to them the "Chelsea" boot apparently also encompasses the Chukka. Puke, give me the Allen-Edmonds version for $50 less please.
