hey, ski season is right around the way. After heading out to Colorado this spring, i think ive spoiled the way i look at northeastern skiing. As an advanced/expert skier i am looking for the northeastern ski resorts that provide the best "off-piste" or glade runs.

also, in the past my ski experiences have been "up at dawn for first tracks, asleep by 7pm" so i ask: What are the resorts in the NE that have the best night life?

this is my first post, so thanks for any input

I have had a season pass to Mad River Glen in Waitsfield, VT for about 10 years, and I have to say that after skiing there, nothing else in the northeast even compares. It's an incredibly rustic mountain (the main lift is a diesel powered single chair), but the terrain is second to none. There is almost no grooming, and the trails are naturally narrow with moguls. I would recommend talking to a local, because most of the best skiing isn't on a trail map.

As far as nightlife goes, there is some but not a huge amount...but the tradeoff is worth it for the terrain.

do wot my brother and I did...take a trip to France...it's EVERYTHING you want...skiing is AMAZING, night life is awesome...it's basically the sh!t.

I live in NJ, and Mt. Creek is like half an hour away...it's good practice skiing for me

Just give up on EIS (Eastern Ice Skiing), and go out to Colorado. Although I do second the mad river glen, great terrarian and you skip the Frankie and Johnnie in the Giants Starter jackets.
