How do Frye Brandos go with New Standards? Is NS too slim for these?

I don't know about the Brando laceups, but I tried on a pair of Brando engineer boots with Earnest Sewn Fultons (straight leg) and they were too slim

So, what's the minimum hem would you recommend to go with these boots?

I wear lace-ups with NS all the time. I don't think it is a stretch at all.

I wear lace-up Brandos with APCs most days. For reference, I wear size 28 APCs, and the fit is just about perfect. I have Brando Engineers as well, and the shaft opening is a bit too large for the APCs.

I think the hem on NS's is too small for brandos. I wouldnt go under 8" minimum for a boot like the brando. The hem on NS's (7.75") goes along with slimmer boots like clarks dbs, paul smith ricards, and alden af60s.

Waist size is a consideration, as it makes the whole leg larger.

That said, even at 34" the NS is a little too small for most pull-on boots. But fine for lace-up boots. Probably OK for a lot of zip-up boots.

I wear boots with my New Standard's all the time. My New Cure's are too slim.

NS type fits are great with some boots, but are dorky with others. Depends on the slimness of the boot, your foot size, and the fit of the rest of the outfit.

nyc_gaucho, excellent fit on those jeans. Particularly the 5EP's.

Surrender, I've worn Chippewa Engineer boots (which I am assuming they fit around the same, like an asshole) with ES Fulton's before, and they fit fine nyc_gaucho's Skull's look tighter at the hem than Fulton's and they still look good.

I'd say they look good until the top of the boot holds the jeans open and you can see the silhouette of the boot through the denim.

Didn't they used to do tinned corned beef and various meat pies?
