NEED HELP...matching a glenn plaid jacket with jeans

Hello all,

I am new to posting, but I have been using the forum for style advice for several years. I'm hoping someone can help me with this...

I have a newer Ermenegildo Zegna jacket (bought it two years ago) - the color is light/medium gray glenn plaid with a faint deep red window pane (the window pane stripes are very narrow). The jacket is double vented and has a modern tailored fit.

I am going to an evening party at a restaurant then to a bar and would like to wear this jacket with a pair of jeans, but I am having trouble with the best way to do it. My fall-back is a white shirt, but I am hoping someone has a better idea for me.

Here are the items I need help with...

1. Shirt type and color?
2. Can I get away with a vintage wash jean? I have been trying to find a pair of dark jeans, but I can't find any that fit well.
3. Pocket square? If so, what color?
4. Shoes and belt?...I was planning to wear a pair of cognac penny loafers (To Boot NY - Hayden: http://goo.gl/FzZUrb), but I'm open to other suggestions.

I will post some pictures of the jacket as soon as I get home.
