I'm in my second year of college, but I'm still living here at my dad's house as it's very conveniently located between school, work and many stores as well as friends. Plus it saves me money. Anyway, I'd like to spruce up my room a tad after seeing my friend freshly re-done room, I'd like to do mine as well. Any comments on how well this stuff works together, as well as quality if you have any experience with the makers would be great. Other options are also more than welcome

Furniture is already taken care of for the most part. For bedding, I was thinking of this whole bedding ensemble ( comforter, sheets, pillows, etc) from Inhabit:

For wall coverings, I was thinking these, also from Inhabit:

And for lighting, I was thinking this, from Rose and Radish:

Perhaps with this shade? (I dunno, maybe I'm overdoing the outdoor thing?)

maybe posting a picture of your room as is would be helpful? I like the stuff that you've posted, but it sort of depends on how your room is configured. Also depends on how much of a nature guy you are, and how that fits with your personality, imo. Example, it wouldn't make sense for me to adorn my room with animal rugs and mounted heads if I didn't hunt

That would be a very "soothing" room.

Yeah, I was going to, but my digital camera decided to crap out on me. I gotta figure out what's going on with it. Basically, the room is fairly big and a basic square....I'd say maybe 18x15. Light tan carpeting. Off-white walls. My furniture right now consists of: Bed: http://www.westelm.com/online/store/...c=WE-SH1FRNBED

The look I'm going for is like Socal said, a very serene peaceful look. I'm a nature type guy, not the hunter type.....I enjoy hiking and photographing nature, so I feel this look will fit my personality perfectly. I'm just afraid I may be overdoing the whole nature thing.

I wonder if you really kept a bowl of pebbles on the corner of your rug how often you'd kick it.

I really like all that stuff, except for that last lampshade, it was too much for the rest of the stuff which was much more subtle.
I like the wood grain stitch design on the comforter, pretty neat.

Better to live in a cafe and return to your room only after dark.

Are you paying for the decoration completely or relying on parents to do that too?

Do you plan on permanently living at your parents' house for the rest of your life?

Have you considered saving up the money for your own apartment/house, to do/decorate as you please?

As for me, I'm paying for this completely. My fiance and I are buying a house of our own in two years, and this stuff will be comming with to make the master suite. She too likes the stuff, and that's a plus. We already have the money for a nice house, it's just a matter of finding the right one, as we're both rather picky. The only reason I'm still at my dad's is because it's right smack dab in the middle of work and school, so the commute both ways is easy. Also, I don't want to rent in the mean-time because renting, in my mind is basically throwing money away, especially when we're planning to buy in a year or two anyway.
