I am in a tie dilemma. I have my cousins evening wedding coming up in a week and a half. It is an evening wedding. Going to be wearing a dark gray Brooks Brothers Fitz suit and white FC shirt (see picture below). I need a "summery staple tie" to go with this suit/shirt combo. Maybe a pocket square, but not sure. Suggestions with pictures or links would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm... my summer staple tie would not be the same as the tie I wear to an evening wedding. But here's my unqualified opinion- as a wedding guest, I'd keep it fairly simple and understated. For a summer staple tie, I like light blue linen or possibly raw silk- though you might feel that's not sober enough for the wedding. What's your price point? As far as pocket squares, I think that's perfectly appropriate but again, keep it simple as the occasion requires, something white and no crazy folding schemes. If you like contrasting your fabrics and went with linen for the tie, maybe try hand-rolled silk.

These are all suggestions for a "safe" combo but I guess you didn't specify whether this is a Merchant-Ivory type wedding or a jello shots and tequila kind of wedding where you're the wacky cousin. If it's the latter, go fish tie. Always go fish tie.

There are 'wedding ties' which are woven silk squares with dark or silvery grounds.

Good all year 'round.

Sam Hober has some here.

Navy linen. The color goes with the suit, the fabric goes with the season.
