Navy Blazer - How Many Buttons on the Sleeves?

I am getting a single breasted 2 button navy blazer made. How many buttons should there be on the sleeves? I am intending to use gold buttons. I suppose 3 or 4 is always good, but which is the norm and more widely accepted?

I don't think that there is a more widely accepted number of sleeve buttons because no one stops to count the button's on other people's sleeves. I'd go with 4 (because I always do), but 3 would be fine. When you start to create threads like this one, you're taking things too seriously.

I have three on one blazer, four on the other. It doesn't matter too much.

Four always - three or even one make the garment look like a cheapskate budget item.

Mine has no sleeve buttons; when I had it made, I could not find any small regimental buttons, so I decided to leave them out completely. The abscence of sleeve buttons has a logical connection to the dress uniform it is supposed to complement, so I have not bothered to sew them on later either.

Right or wrong? Don't know, but at least it does not look off-the-peg.
