If you are going to mix economic terms into your posts at least use them in the right context. Sunk costs are not recoverable, nor salvageable, and hence have zero opportunity cost. Entertainment equipment does not meet these standards as it possess resale value.

Well, some equipment is worth nothing after years of use. I was using this as a basis for calling it such. My point however regarding the reason to calibrate a TV was understood I take it?

You guys should call a truce. I know that you are both frustrated by being stuck in Virginia, but this is the holidays and no time to bicker.

Wanting to extract maximum performance from one's TV is a reasonable undertaking but using flawed arguments to support that endeavour contracts from your know-it-all persona. By the way, your basis for calling the equipment a sunk cost is still incorrect. A more apt argument would be the rapid amortization of entertainment equipment.

What part of my argument is flawed? When I have ever said I know everything? Regarding this or any other subject?

Enough of this political nonsense. Let's get back to praising my home theater system.

Watched Spiderman 3 on BluRay last night. Breathtaking image.

I play about... 3 hours of video games a week
