I'm not able to connect the dots. Care to spell this one out? Here are my thoughts: 1. I like thoughtful people and I think children can and should be raised to become thoughtful adults. 2. I tend not to tell parents how to do their job (of raising thoughtful children) because of a) the stigma attached to doing so and b) because I'm often not in a position to know what a child and his/her parent needs. 3. I have taken steps to advise my aunt on her role as a mother because requirements a) and b) above were met. That is, we are very close and I have observed real deficiencies in her rearing my cousin over time. 4. I believe my aunt does not perceive her deficiencies as deficiencies. 5. I love my aunt and my cousin. /brain sex

If my kids misbehave, I'm sending them to bootcamp at GlobeTrotter's. I'm sure that he'd be happy to receive them. They couldn't be worse than his mother-in-law, after all.

No offense but from what you said it seems your aunt is a procreating ignoramus

and you seem to not have much of an issue sharing your world with her.

We're all ignoramuses, dude. Possessing special insight that a loved one doesn't is no reason to feel false pride; it's reason to love and to help according to my ability. ?

This was never a point of debate. I was merely playing off your comment about procreating

ignoramuses and was confused as to why your aunt was any different. Thats all.

Well, not ones whose English is worth a damn, anyway. We might have to resort to smuggling in some Irish au pairs.

Actually, the illegals are the ones worth having. Once they're legal, they become Los Americanos and start to relax. Integracion FTL.

Oh, I think you hold their English to a higher standard than the rest of us. I'm perfectly happy to deal with a mixture of English, Spanish, Creole, and Texican, coupled with sign language, pantomime, and the occasional shrug.

Hey, speaking of, we have a bunch of guys who hand out business cards for their random services. Do you mark up their business cards for grammatical errors and return them?
