I like mints, but I use Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Australian Chewing Sticks. Not a mint, but I use them for the same purposes. It's basically like a toothpick which is soaked in tea tree oil and other stuff to give it a very strong minty or even menthol flavor. You chew/suck on them until they fall apart or lose their flavor. They're marketed for oral hygiene, but I get them because I like the intense flavor.
