Microfiber fabric for furniture

I recently purchased two sofas from Crate & Barrel that have microfiber fabric. They claim that it is easier to clean and less susceptible to staining. However it does not feel as soft as conventional cotton fabrics.

What do you think about microfiber? Is it like corrected grain leather and should be shunned?

It does not feel as good as other materials but does not stain easily and is very easy to clean up. I bought a red microfiber sofa a few months ago and love it. It is not as nice a sleather. but for me being a recent college grad it has gotten the job done.

Microfiber is a very convenient fabric. It lacks a bit in looks some would say, but its easy maintenance. I have a microfiber couch that looks the same een after 2 years. Sure your longterm experience will be good.
