I am looking for mens dress pants with the following characteristics. Good wool that drapes well and resists wrinkles, good tailoring, flat front, medium to long rise, available in Boston area, or from an internet retailer with good return policy, reasonably priced (under 150.00, preferably around 100).
My experiences have been really bad. Recently, pants from boss black, and some others have been that the pants tear near stitching points. For example, I have a pair which tore near the back pocket (the non-wallet pocket), exactly where there is stitching reinforcement. It seemed like the reinforcement actually cut through the fabric much like serrations on notebook paper, allowing the fabric to easily tear along it. Same thing happened with some boss black pants, right along the pocket. This kind of tailoring seems really dismal.
Is there anything better in this price range? And if not, is there anywhere to get some of the better, more expensive clothes at a discount? Higher than 150.00 for pants is getting out of my price range, especially when I don’t have any knowledge whether they are really better, vs just more money.
