Meermin vs. Carmina?

Is Carmina truly worth the higher price point? I'm just looking for the next level up in shoe compared to Allen Edmonds.

I'm not considering Cordovan.
if you're looking for a level up from AE then Carmona fits that, Meermin classico doesn't. Their linea maestro does, but it is the same price or more than Carmina.

Has this happened to any of your Meermin shoe? Both my R and L shoes have a single hole in the middle of the insole, which is a bit weird. I'm just wondering what methods cause holes in the middle of the insoles? These are new shoes, unworn and were received in the aforementioned condition. Here are some pictures:

Insoles are tacked to the last before lasting, generally with nails. Looks like they're just placing them there.

I noticed they added the antique oak rtw. The actual product images didn't look that good but these new real life shots are great

What are they using? ... railroad spikes?

The tacks or staples that makers...manufacturer and bespoke alike...use to temporarily secure the insole to the last are very small. And the resulting holes almost unnoticeable when the last is pulled.

Even less so when the shoe has been worn a bit.

For the guys who have received their MTO's in the past 6 months.

Has Meermin been delivering on time?

The black calf/suede bal boot was quoted as delivering in April, and I received it (to Canada) late April or early May, so pretty close, I'd say.

a couple of mine were all within reasonable deliver dates, just a few days to a week off from the anticipated time frame.

Can't wait 'til I figure out my Meermin size so I can participate in the GMTO! I currently have placed an order on their new Elton double monk and am waiting a confirmation e-mail. What's the average wait time? Is 6 weeks still the norm?

Please do report back about fit. I have a high instep and medium-wide feet, and I don't yet own any Meermin shoes, so I'm worried the Elton will be a bit too narrow given what I've read (limited information available for the Elton thus far).

Sure will, although I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to sizing shoes as I only have 2 'proper' pairs to compare it too.
