A small assortment of Corneliani and a lone Canali sportcoat in winter weight fabrics at the UWS Filene's Basement. Priced at a touch under $200 + Tax. Retail around 1100-1400. Sizes 40-42. Sucks that nothing fit me.

One lonely pair of brown Zanella pleated trousers in size 40 for less than $70.

Lots of Zegna dress shirts for $69.

There's a lot of Boglioli in size 40.

Worth mentioning, too, that C21 has quite a good selection of Battistoni ties at $37. Very nice ties -- certainly at that price!

SCOOP NYC is having a sample sale at their new location in Soho (Broadway and Broome?). Just call the store. Lots of casual wear discounted 75-85% off. Plenty of quality Jil Sander stuff, particularly dress shirts, marked down to $59. I bought a few T shirts for $5 and $10, and a plain brown Neil Barrett hoodie for $39. Not a bad haul.

C21 has some Isaia suits (I saw 42 and 44) at $670; Brioni suits marked down to $1350, others remain at $2000 (regular discounted price). I found those Battistoni ties were cut too narrowly for my taste. Two racks of Hickey Freeman suits at $500 and the never ending supply of Barbera "Club" suits. Cornelani sportcoats in mainly summer weights/patterns are $270.

Additional 50% off the already reduced prices? That's pretty good! May have to stop in after lunch.

It's 50% off the lowest ticket which is already 25-40% off. So for example, Edward Green Olney boots which started at $1050, were reduced to $787, are now $393.

It's definitely worth a look.

Saks EG update: As of late morning, there're still a decent number of pairs of Ashby left, in size 12, 8.5, 9.5, 7 and/or 8. A pair of Chelsea 202 in tobacco suede in 9. No more Onley on the racks. Even if you don't see anything your size on the racks, asked the salesperson anyway. Al was very helpful and found me a pair of Ashby and Onley in my size.

I browsed the sale suits and spotted a nice Corneliani 40R. The salesman went to check the price and told me that it wasn't on sale, that it had been mistakenly placed on the sale rack. I was not pleased. Definitely bargains to be had, though.
