I just don't have a local tailor nearby - especially at the prices you mention.

My experience with online mtm was pretty smooth. I was happy with the service at nialma.

If I did have a local tailor at a competitive price then maybe I would have considered that.

If you're happy with what you're currently doing, then stay with that. You might be surprised about the availability of a local tailor though. I live in a pretty small town, and we have two tailors (that I know of) as well as a Tom James. Neither of them advertise, so I wasn't aware of their existence until a few years ago when I needed some alterations and went looking for a tailor. As far as pricing, I guess that's another matter. I feel like my tailor provides some excellent values, and that may not be the case with all.

True - I suspect local tailors would not advertise as much as rely on word of mouth. I paid $115 per shirt for Thomas Mason cotton in a 4 shirt deal - I could not find any better than that for fabric of that quality. I used the cheaper fabric in the first order and it was $70 a shirt including shipping. These prices mean I can buy twice a year rather than once. I will keep my ear to the ground for local tailors - would be interested to compare price v quality.
