Good afternoon all,

I’m hoping that some well informed forum membervmay be able to offer some advice on an issue that i have with a new pair of Loake Pimlico boots. They were purchased as a Christmas gift, and i even tried them in the shop prior to purchasing but hadn’t noticed the defects at the time.

Having worn them at home for a couple of days, i’ve noticed that the back seam on the left boot is not centred, being off centre by a good quarter of an inch. This in itself doesn’t seem to affect the fit, but knowing it’s not centred now bugs me a little. The second issue is that the heel on the same boot is not even from the inside to the outside edge - i.e. the inside edge of the heel is wider by a good eigth of an inch, compared to the outside edge, and the other boot is well finished in comparison. I wear a corrective insole in my shoes, and it worries me that the heel is not even, although the shop assures me that these issues can be expected with hqnd made shoes!

I know that the cost of these boots does not comapre with some more reputable show makers, but surely the finish should be to a high standard for a hand made shoe?

Any comments would be very welcome, just in case i’m being critical.

Many thanks

Richard
