An interesting and pretty candid Q&A with Summit Industries (Lexol brands and many others) management. The stuff is a fine, aqueous emulsion of "synthetic Sperm Whale Oil," their proprietary secret along with methods to emulsify small droplets.

Neatsfoot Oil, Mink Oil are derived from lard--used to be derived from boiled pig and sheep feet.

Enjoy!

I read that Q&A quite some time ago and it's quite an interesting read. Remarks like: " "Mink Oil" is a euphemistic name for liquefied pig fat and silicone" is clearly a snide towards Kiwi.

That makes you question the real meaning of "mink oil". A trademark or in a literal sense.

Excellent--thank you!

I'm definitely hoping to incorporate "fatliquoring" into my daily parlance.
