Just shut up dude. It's not a leather jacket ina leather jacket thread, you even admitted yourself it's not trying to be a leather or fake lather jacket:

So why post it in this thread?

Oh look, they're selling Ervell blazers at Gilt, it's vegan because it uses no leather and a good alternative to those looking for leather blazers but doesn't want to wear leather!

Get over it, take the L and move on.

Oh man. I need that ASAP RFX.
Tried on that Burberry leather I posted before, so crap. I needed a 50 to fit my shoulders, but more of a 48s body. Fail.

Ah well, my quest for a new leather continues.

Looks perfect, rfx. Probably what I'd go for if I was going to get a rick leather.

Can someone give me a rundown on the different types of leather treatments?

Oiled calf - what exactly does "oiled" mean?
Hammered lamb - is the leather literally hammered to give it an aged / worn-in look?

here's some info that I compiled for myself from several sources that may help

- leather treatment and styles:
"LB: unwashed calf
LM: metallic calf
LS: silky lambskin
LC: washed lambskin
LF: fading lambskin"

- "LP for example is hammered lamb and indeed very expensive. The reason for this is that to make the leather extra soft and sturdy the lambdrinks single malt scotch so it has literally been hammered from birth until they take it to the butcher. This is not only because of the leather treatment, but it also creates fantastic meat."

- "i've owned several types and here is what i can tell you

oiled calf - very very thick and durable, also smooth with a rubbery feel to it. most substaintial leather i have felt, but too thick for me.

washed lamb - thing, with slight sheen. good for spring or cool temperatures. i really like the more delicate feel to it.

sheep skin - super soft and supple

normal calf - very thick and durable as well, not the rubbery feeling to it

distressed lamb (from the gradient i believe) - flaky leather, gets destroyed easily (intentional), ages well if you like the destroyed look"
