This jacket has zero break-in so I'm sure there will be some molding once I start wearing it. I can only compare it to my Himel Kensington which which was much tighter than this but it broke in and fits me like a shirt now. Definitely not an overcoat or layering piece.

So... Feels good?

I was dripping in sweat from setting up my daughter's bouncy castle for her birthday party tomorrow so it felt terrible.

In all seriousness, it is a bit tight to get in but the leather is super supple and feels like it will break in well to me.

You should never ask a lady that!

6'1" and about 208lbs. Pretty typical size 44 or L/XL depending on the brand.

To keep or not to keep, that is the question.

I picked up this practically unworn FCL James as it was a great deal. I'm not really into black leather jackets although I do have a three motorcycle jackets in black (as that is what they come in) and one black nubuck rabbit fur lined coat.

My selfie camera sucks but I tried to take some with the FCL James with the camera wedged in my shoe closet. I also took come comparison pictures with my beloved eight year old Himel Brothers Kensington. The reason for this it that the Kensington fit tight in the arms and slim in the body so the fit is very similar to this one when it was new. The FCL is a much softer, less stiff HH so I'm sure it will patina much faster.

I have gotten offers on here for the FCL of I choose not to keep it so I can get my money back. That being said, it is a nice jacket and I'll never get a price like that again on a new FCL. I recently bought a brown FCL Leon and I have a Himel Imperial on order. All these are brown jackets though so this one, even though a similar style to the Imperial, is is still quite different and the Imperial is a medium brown.

Anyway, would love your thoughts on fit and if I should keep.

Here is the Himel Kensington after eight years for comparison. (I know, I need a haircut).

It looks tight in the armpits in a way your Himel isn't, based on the pulling there. I think it's slightly too small on you, though nothing egregious.

Yes, I think you are right. The Himel has a bigger arm opening although the elbow bend was similar and required quite a bit of break in. I guess Japanese arms are smaller? This leather does feel like it stretches easily so I'm pretty sure that will improve with wear (I hung it on a wooden hanger overnight and it dimpled the shoulders, the Himel can hang like that with no effect, the dimples came out with five minutes of wear but I now have it on a very wide, plastic hanger).

I'd say move it and get your money back. FCLs have always looked too slim to me in general regardless of the pattern. It might be too much overlap anyway with the Imperial you're getting, but to me the Imperial is the better jacket anyway.

Hate to say it, but I'd move on from it. It looks a size small to me.

In my view, the main issue is the shoulder area. It will improve, but it looks like it is too small in the shoulders and that the arm opening is too small. Personally, I would be bothered by it. Further, just visually, it looks kind of too tiny. Then again, I don't really love the skin tight look. Himel looks significantly better.

Also, although this is way down the list, sleeves look a bit short. But may just be the photo. This is something I would live with, no problem, but it is kind of an added thing.

Thanks for the input. I put it on again and it is growing "pun intended" on me. I disagree with the sleeves being too short but with the elbows breaking in, they may shorten up a bit due to the folds (like my Himel did).

The original member who wanted it backed out due to shipping so Sweden. So, if someone here wants it for what I paid for it, it's yours. If not, I'll just keep it.

You have the brown FCL, right? What are the other ones you purchased recently?

I am the one who got cold feet. I've heard that USPS international shipping is in chaos right now and that there's a high risk of packages getting lost.

Anyone else heard something about this?
