Yeah, not feeling that jacket. Pocket placement seems too high to me. And as other have pointed out before there a better options for much less money.

I’m baffled that here of all places, enjoyment/money spent is a recommended metric.

Not sure what you mean. The metric I use and recommend is "bad design + high price = no bueno"

First off the design being bad isn’t a universal point of agreement. I think the zip pockets are meh but in point of view it looks terrific in a sleek and contemporary way like few Type 3 inspired jackets do.

As sort of a « trucker » jacket aficionado it’s my point of view and I stand by it. I own and wear 5 different « trucker » jackets: a raw denim type 3, shearling lined orange tab Levis type 3, early 60’s Lee stormrider, tan roughout RRL type 2 and brown roughout Joe McCoys type 3. It doesn’t make my opinion more valid than yours but it certainly helps me confident that I’m not talking out of ******.

Secondly, I’m not calling you out specifically. Rather, I’m surprised that in the Zeitgeist we talk about money as point of comparison when it’s mostly irrelevant from an aesthetic standpoint once the jacket has been bought. Fashion is not a videogame where you min/max your limited resources.

It’s 100% fine that you don’t like it, but if you dont like it the price shouldn’t matter.

Whoa man, relax. I was only being half serious with my last comment. Anyway, I am pretty sure that everyone who has commented on that jacket (including myself) is in perfect agreement with you that their pov is a strictly subjective thing. I don't think anyone has made any claim to their liking or not liking the jacket being an objective fact or true normative proposition or something. That would just be plain silly. It's just some random dudes on a forum saying that for that kind of money you could do much better. That's all.

And for the record, I don't feel called out at all. It's all good.

Eh? The price/design (or whatever metric put up against cost) aspect has always been a thing here in styfo. Just because the forum caters to mostly high priced clothing doesn't mean people won't be mindful of what they're willing to spend. I also don't see that jacket attractive for 2k plus. I mean sure, buy it if you really like it but sometimes people here have something of value to share that can help lead to better options.
