I've dabbled with the thought of getting Johnson to make me a monotone version of the varsity they did for Junya:

these are really the best leather jackets you guys have seen?
It looks great in the staged pics, but the reality is there is too much cloth in his constructions, when you put them on they seem too much. Open this is so floppy it becomes difficult to wear. I tried a similar coat from the a/w 2018 collection. Super luxury, of course, but a bit too much. That coat is amazing. Maybe the only coat I have seen that looks better when worn open.
NMWA will have a similar one by James grose this winterMy next jacket, which I'm going to get in time for next winter is going to be a MTM Douglas jacket from Cromford Leather Co. https://www.cromfordleather.co.uk/mens/douglas/
It's supposedly a beast - a fullgrain sheepskin shearling bonded to 1/1 mm cowhide, and weighing in at 4-5 kg, so 8.8-11 lbs. I'm going to do it in black cowhide with a grey, snow tipped, shearling, which will just mesh with the rest of my wardrobe a lot easier. The only change I am debating is having just the one arm tighterer than 2. That said, it caught my eye as is, so I'm not sure that I'd be shooting myself in the foot by simplifying it that way.
Hmmm... the thing that I really like about it is that it's shearling bonded to cowhidem which has way more toughness and longevity, not to mention lustre, than just a straight up sheepskin shearling, and I like that it's actually MTM, but I'll ask Greg and Kyle what's up.NMWA will have a similar one by James grose this winter
