Lanvin is an old French house that has been under revival. The women's line is highly priced, adn regarded designed by Alber Elbaz former onetime designer of Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche.

However I believe that certain aspects of the men's lines are still under license similar to Givenchy Homme.

My father used to have his shirts made by Lanvin. The most beautiful shirts I have ever seen. Finer then anything I have ever seen from Italy. I could not vouch for the quality today.

I don't know if anyone even owns the rights to the name in the US.

There was some mention of Lanvin in the DNR recently but I do not remember what was said.

Prices for women or men are in the same range :

RTW suit = around 2 000 euros
Shirts = around 110/120 euros
7 fold tie = 170 euros
tie = 90 euros

A friend of mine has 40 % off all year long and 80% off one day before sales (sales for employee and friends).

I guess I will spend a lot of money during summer sales.

Lanvin suits sold in Italy are made by Canali.

Oh, I did not know that. The Lanvin items I've seen are licensed items unworthy of mention really. Lanvin is similar in rank to Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche or Balenciaga.
Lanvin is far better than these 2 brands Up to me, Lanvin makes the best french suit and shirts.

What do you think about Charvet, and that other French brand which is also a classic company. I can't seem to recall the name.
Charvet do not make suit

No, not Dior. It is a much more conservative brand. Their logo uses an outline of a man with a hat I recall. And perhaps a walking stick. A brand on par with Hermes.

And I believe Charvet does make suits. Although their forte are obviously bespoke shirtings.

I think Charvet does not make suits as I have never seen a suit in their shop

Arnys yes. Lancel is a leather goods manufacuter. Certainly not a suitmaker there.

But I do recall somewhere that Charvet offered suits. Was it in the Place Vendome shop?
