L.A. Tailor for Shortening Sleeve From Shoulder

I recently bought a suit online and everything fits well except the jacket sleeves are like 2-3-inches too long.

After receiving the jacket, I noticed the jacket has functional buttonholes (surgeon cuffs) so I need to have the sleeve shortened at the shoulder (shortening from the cuff is not even possible at this point because so much has to be chopped off from the bottom).

Anyone know of competent tailors in the Los Angeles / Orange County area that can perform this alteration well?

I did some searches and Wilshire Tailors and Mancini Tailoring appear to be viable options but was hoping for suggestions/advice from members that have had this specific alteration performed.

Paul at Wilshire Tailor has done this for me, as has Charles the Tailor on Olympic at Lapeer. Both are very capable.

+1 as to both. I've had this done by Paul. Can't recall if I've had Charles do this particular alteration, but he does excellent work generally.

I sincerely appreciate all your advice regarding capable tailors in the L.A. area.

Seriously, this is the last time I buy a suit that does not have a Short, Reg, Long length designation. The sleeve on this jacket is obscenely long and I wonder why they bothered with the surgeon cuffs at all.

Another way to do it is to have then shorten the sleeve from the bottom and fix the sleave so that there is the that seam that you expect around the buttons. I had some guy hack the sleeves (rather than pull it up - there was a miscommunication) and the seam that I expected was gone. I took it to Lizon (and brought some extra material from the pants) and he was able to rebuild the sleeve for only $25.

So if the sleeve is super long, there is probably enough material to rebuild the seam properly. When you try to pull the sleeve up to the shoulder the issue is that the width of the sleeve does not match necessarily with opening in the chest of the jacket. I hope that makes sense, or you can just visit him.
