Kicking Mule fakes on eBay

I bought a pair of KMW jeans recently, and in the process looked at those that are being offered on eBay for $50.

At that price, I had to ask, are they fakes? They look it to me, but I'm no expert. Can anyone here explain how to tell the genuine article from the counterfeit?

This is a quick question and you should have posted an example. That being said, 75% chance that they're actually deadstock MiC KMWs rather than fakes, they have different detailing

No. The jeans he's thinking of are probably super old stock from the Made in China days. It's been floating around for a while now. I have no idea how good it is, but $50 gets you a pair of Levi's. KMW at its worst is going to be orders of magnitude better than that.

There have been a couple of threads made on this.. and no, they're not fakes.

They're old stock, made in China (usually). The main way to differentiate the two is by the width of the belt loops - New ones are thinner while the older ones are thicker.

There are a bunch of other differences too, like stitching, inside tags, and the lack of a deerskin patch.

Also (can't edit posts on my phone), KMWs are very easily identifyable by the denim, (not sure if it's true on the blacks) all KMW denim uses half blue and half red selvedge

+1. They're from the original run, and while they aren't as nice as the current models, they are far superior to any new pair of jeans for $50.00.

I also (used to) own MiC models...they were great. The cuts are basically the same as the MiJ models, and the quality is great too. Awesome deal for $50, you should get them (even though I got mine for $40

It appears that the KMW's models on e-bay are nothing like the current offerings and do fit differently. Read the desription in the e-bay listing, and make your best guess about the fit
