All,
Yes I am new, and yes I know this khaki suit/shoes topic has come up time and time again. For our fraternity formal we're going to a casino outside of Louisville on Friday night and taking a bus to the Kentucky Derby the next day. We're having a cocktail party followed by a night of gambling on Friday night at the casino.
I'm thinking of wearing a khaki suit (Brooks Brothers Fitzgerald Cut), a black knit tie (not skinny), black wingtips, white pocket square and white shirt. The general consensus on this forum seems to be light brown>black shoes. However I think the khaki suit is more of a day time suit, and I think the black makes it a little more of a formal/evening wear touch.
agree or disagree?
...And before anyone suggests wearing it to the derby...I'm going to be in the infield and not the grandstand. There is NO WAY IN HELL I'M taking it to the infield. It would probably get destroyed.
