I recently started a small business and am looking to recruit sales associates.

Does anyone have recommendations for free or small cost places to post jobs?

Careerbuilder and monster are roughly 350-400 for one posting in one city. Linked in has a place for employers to post jobs for 195 for one post. However, it is limited just to linked in users.

Careerbuilder and monster are too expensive for a small business like ours.

I've done regular postings with craigslist, but I would like to see if I can get more interest and resumes.

Any ideas?

California has caljobs. Maybe your state has something similar.

I think reaching out to local colleges is a really good bet. This is assuming your compensation isn't solely based on commission as that is not going to fly with most college career sites. The other idea might be an industry specific blog or website that potential candidates might hang out at.

I hear what you are saying about Craigslist. It brings in some pretty sorry candidates. Career builder and the like have been ruined by spammers and insurance companies looking for salesman.

What about Indeed? Or Linkup. They're both pretty solid (spam free?) job search engines.
