So I went to see the movie last night. First off, regardless of what I may think of the clothes, it was a *great* Bond movie. No criticisms there. But, we're not here to talk about the actual movie, so on to the clothing...

The suits were for the most part just as bad as feared. Everything was too tight, *WAY* too short, both jackets and trousers, and worst of all, every single suit he wore, *every* one, had a huge 1+" collar gap, even when he was just standing there and not moving. It was truly mind boggling--that isn't in any way even a style thing. A collar gap, especially one that big = doesn't fit, any way you slice it. I have seen better fits from H&M suits. It was appalling. Also, why would they go with a suit with a single vent and that slim of a fit? The vent just split open all the time and looked ridiculous.

Now, all the outfits weren't bad. Ralph Fiennes' suits were fantastic. And the outfit he wore in Scotland with the waxed cotton coat was great. But yeah, on the whole, don't go see it expecting to see some nice fits.

Really, Tom Ford should be furious. If I were a naive movie goer and saw those suits, I would steer way, way clear of anything and everything with his name on it. As it is, his stuff isn't my style, but I have seen fits from him were I can at least appreciate what they were going for. But this stuff was just awful.

I think the clothing reflects the trends today. So a naive movie goer would get just what he expected from a trendy bond, and be fascinated at the prospect of Bond fighting in a short peacoat. Most of the clothing choices reflected this. StyleForvm is indeed the minority in these things, and I personally miss the Brioni days of Bond, even though I like TF.

I'm still processing Skyfall. Then again, I'm still processing The Clown Anus, maybe something has happened with my brain and film.

The sad part is that the majority of the people who see the movie will probably start thinking that is the "proper" way to wear a suit

+1000, i use both brands and i think TF looks better on me but i dunno what the hell the direction the wardrobe people are taking with bond. They need to bring back lindy hemming and Brioni

I like this styling a lot, a very nice overcoat, good trouser length etc.
1000

And the film was good too :)

Pants length seem too short for me. I don't mind that overcoat length though. Not a big fan of long overcoats or suit jackets to be honest.

I saw an abnormal amount of clothing ads before the movie previews when I saw Skyfall last night. They were all for really terrible online made to measure websites.

Hahaha, figures... Craig's suits looked like they ordered them from one of said terrible online MTM outfits.

Y'know, after going through the reviews for Skyfall, I wonder if the effect of too-tight clothes on Craig is deliberate... artistically, that is.

A man who no longer feels comfortable in his own skin.

Who does not 'fit' in any more.

Just something to consider...
