Did you take a picture, recreate the image in colored sand, take a picture of that and then upload it?
Seriously the length looks correct for a traditional jacket. You definitely do not want something longer than what you have on now. A more contemporary jacket would be about a half to an inch shorter than that.
Length is good, but the pant thigh and leg need to be taken in for the style of the jacket to match the style of the pant
I would say that in that grainy photo, the length looks fine. That it's only 90% of the "backside coverage" is, for me, neither here nor there.
The point of the linked thread is that there's a range that's not hard to find. If you're comfortable with it, along the general parameters noted in that link, then that's all that's needed. For the most part, one should not worry about a half inch up or down, etc.
