It's starting to look like Todd Grantham is Georgia's new DC. Rumor has it he's accepted the position.

Apparently, Mack told him, "it's time to redefine the nature of our association."

Good to see Mack is getting rid of them. Don't want to be a renegade program where you take any thug off the street... cough... oklahoma.. cough...

^^ Crazy. I guess they're hoping some of the Dooley magic will follow him to Knoxville.

I guess. I do like this hire over Cutcliffe. I would rather have the reaction of, "Who is this guy?" Than, "Oh you got Cutcliffe, thats alright?" Plus, he is young, supposedly has good recruiting skills (which was a major for me with Cutcliffe), and has worked under Saban (a plus in my book). All we can really do is wait and see. Hopefully we will still have a decent recruiting class, but probably not.

It's a weak hire by almost every objective measure. It could work out, as most hirings are crapshoots to an extent, but if you were told a week ago that a guy with a 17-20 career record in the WAC would be your coach, you'd be less than thrilled.

If you are going to be forced to take a flyer on a young coach, Dooley isn't a bad choice. Still Hamilton needs to be gone. Also, did you see the geniuses at USC gave Kiffin $4 mil per year?!?!?!?! Where'd they get the money? The movie biz, and specifically the Appreciation biz, are down this year. What other deep-pocket alumni pool can USC draw on? Did Snoop Dogg get an unexpected royalty check? Did O.J. stash his money in the locker room?

I am not thrilled now. However, I am still happier about this guy than Cutcliffe who is too old and would not recruit well I don't think.

And he doesn't even have a proven track record as a head coach! They are taking a huge chance on him. Crazy.
