Last night I saw Antonioni's classic film L 'Avventura again.
Although, very slow-paced and even boring for stretches,
it presented an excellent picture of elite Italian Men's (and Women's)
wear of the time. Much of the clothing shown could have come from
contemporary Naples. Except for the lack of vents in some cases,
the jackets conformed to SF standards. So too the shirts, ties and
trousers. And if you appreciate mid-century Alfas and Lancias,
this film is a must see.
