Got it from the Goodwill today, so if it's not, it's not a big loss....it'll then make a nice $5 summer beater shirt.

Why is Linen misspelled on the fabric tag though?

Personally I wonder about asking that kind of question..

Can you feel / see the quality... you should know from that and even if it isn't real RLPL and it looks and feels good then wear it...

My buying philosophy is totally buy what I like the look / feel of and look at who makes it later... I'd like to think I'm driven by aesthetic more than brand..

And when does RL authorize a short sleeve shirt with a PL tag? It's fake. 100% Linnen.

It looks like a GREAT $5 shirt! From the photo it looks like the seam is double needle construction. All the PL I've seen is single needle.

I found a great Zegna linen short sleeve shirt the other day, perfect condition.

Purple Label DOES do linen short sleeve shirts. The linen is very good too (not quite Loro Piana level, which is exceptional, but pretty damn good). I own at least one or two. I seem to recall that they have a little purple strip sewn up the split side seams, that might worth asking to see a photo of. The shirt pictured is quite old though, so may not have that detail. It otherwise looks authentic, in terms of the labels.

There was a question in another thread about "Linnen" - someone said it was the dutch spelling of Linen, fwiw.
