Is this Paul Smith coat horribly overpriced?

Not really overpriced I mean of course you pay a premium for designer clothing. It's not all about quality. That said the quality of that piece seems good and it's made in Italy. I just don't get enough Paul Smith vibe from it to want to drop the premium change.

....overpriced, but of course, that's just my opinion. Someone else may say that the price is right on the money or a great value. The fact that you made this thread says that you think that it's overpriced.

It's not outrageously expensive, but the black trimming details might date it quickly. So the value could be lacking.

Thanks to all for your precious feedback. FYI, I'll also be checking coats from Ede & Ravenscroft and Roderick Charles before concluding & buying...

Most of Paul Smith stuff is a bit overpriced in my book. I love the fits and looks, and he's a wonderful designer, but I'm often times too stingy to ever walk out with anything when I visit that store. There are too many other higher quality garments out there at those prices.

Paul Smith is overpriced on quality but not on design.

Sometimes he releases really unique items, sometimes they are tacky/cheesy, I remember seeing a backwards lapel suit or something like that..

PS = Good slim fit, half-canvass construction and decent materials most of the time. But not the best value at regular price.

You could get a Made in UK burberry coat for that price.

But 'made in Italy' isn't necessarily lower quality than a UK produced garment - it could be better.

OP - nice coat with some interesting design touches, not outrageously overpriced but I think you'd need to see it/handle it to get whether it was overpriced or not.
