Is it possible to watch YouTube through a proxy?

Currently, I live in China and after the Ti Bet events YouTube has been fully blocked by the massive Chinese firewall. I have a few different proxies which I use to access BBC, Wikipedia, blogs, and other things blocked, but due to YouTube's use of video it won't work through a normal proxy. Is there another way to access the website indirectly?

Yup. BBC has been blocked since forever and during the Tibet fiasco NY Times was blocked. YouTube was blocked for a few weeks maybe 4 months ago. It's been blocked again now. It's strange how the firewall works over here. Certain sites won't even work through proxies. Hot topics, like Tiananmen Square, Mao causing famines, Tibet etc. will sometimes work, but then after a few seconds on the page it will refresh and say "Connection has been reset."

Any proxy I use gives me this message when I try to access YouTube videos:

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."

Scripts are 'on' in the proxy settings and I have the latest Flash.

Man... I was just reading the post about Tibet on the Current Events forum and my browser straight-up closed. Now I hear helicopters outside my window...

You could try to create a tunnel to a computer in another country. They probably have SSH blocked altogether in China though.

I found that using google translate solved the problem for blogger.com when I was in China. Just get it to translate from whatever to English.

Its probably easier and effective enough for the Chinese to make it too much of a hassle for the locals to access censored stuff, that to actually go all out and block all means of access.

In case anyone cares, I found a proxy through which YouTube can be viewed. China now blocks Facebook, YouTube, and many other sites.
