Is it possible to 'shrink' shoes?

I bought a pair of used Chelsea boots. The length is fine but the width feels like it was stretched some, so I feel my foot sliding around a bit sideways. Can anything be done to shrink the leather for a tighter fit? Thanks

Never heard of safe methods to shrink shoes but if it's too wide at the toe box, you may want to consider a very thin half insole ?

wear a thicker sock, or alternately wear a second pair of socks on top of your normal socks.
