Ok, so I got to hold my first iPhone 5 today and wanted to share some quick thoughts. It's light. Surprisingly light feeling in the hand. Others have brought up this point in reviews and I think I agree that I almost prefer the heft of the older model. Made it feel more substantial. This is going to take some getting used to and I believe it will eventually feel right.

Build quality is there. It was a white model and as far as I could tell no blemishes or scuffs. Home button has a more confident click to it then past models. Hopefully it won't wear out as fast as they did.

Otherwise it's nice. I didn't get that long with the device, but so far I am happy with the changes. My biggest question left open is the screen. If you have been following my posts on the topic, I have been somewhat critical of the decision to go widescreen instead of increasing the size evenly on all sides. I understand why Apple made the decision, but will need time with the phone to know if I will fully support it.

I adapted to the weight within a day. It was a weird feeling at first. I don't notice it anymore.

Biggest difference by a mile is the speed. This thing is screaming fast.

    I'm sure it is. :)

Well, like I said the only open question I have at this point is the screen aspect ratio Apple went with. That's going to take some time with the device and various apps optimized for the screen.

On a side note, I was thinking about the fact that I had been using the Mapquest app for turn by turn directions for over a year now. It's not perfect, but it does the job and is free. If anyone is not feeling the official Apple Maps app, I would give it a try.

How intrusive is the facebook integration ? Is it possible to not see that anywhere ? I don't have nore want it..refraining from upgrade to ios6 for that and crapple maps reasons..

I see now icloud syncs open tabs across devices. Google should file a claim against that

JRMouse any word on jailbreaking 6 ?

Facebook and twitter are invisible unless you login via settings. Once you do they only show up on things like the share menu in safari. Along with choices to email and bookmark you can share etc.

Facebook will also put events you've been invited to and people's birthdays in your calendar. It's nice for birthdays, but a bit annoying for events.

snap pics with the soon-to-be-yours ip5!

im also SUPER surprised at the quick turnaround time. I did ask him to expedite it, but damn, I didn't it'd take 16 days!

I hope that didn't come at the expense of quality worksmanship..

edit: piob, you realize that through Andre, we are now at 1 degree of separation? I actually told him that I was referred to you by a forum member of an online men's fashion forum. He said, "very nice," and returned to measuring the length of my left arm.

Ok. I officially hate the battery capacity of this phone. Carrying around a charger is not always the solution for me because I usually run out of power running through an airport or on the road. Any solutions? I had a mophie juice pack before and didn't like the quality

    what does 'eh' mean? lol

IIRC, it takes a couple of charging cycles for the battery to work as intended.
