I haven't posted in a while so I thought I could kick start a discussion about an article I read in the British daily, the Independent (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/sc...n-2146994.html) done by a boffin from the London School of Economics.

Love the findings, what about you? Here are the 10 points he has listed but click on the link for a more detailed brief. Based on my own personal experiences and observations, I would agree with at least 8 of them. The other two, I still need to go through those phases yet.

1. Beautiful people have more daughters

2. Liberals are more intelligent than conservatives

3. Most suicide bombers are Muslim

4. Men like blonde bombshells (and women want to look like them)

5. Humans are naturally polygamous

6. Having sons reduces the likelihood of divorce

7. What creative geniuses have in common with criminals

8. The myth of the male mid-life crisis

9. It's natural for male politicians to risk everything for an affair

10. Men sexually harass women because they are not sexist

Someone told me the other day that there's some genetic wiring that has men looking at recessive traits and women looking for dominant traits. Hence guys going the ice princesses and girls looking for tall, dark, and handsome. Anyone know if there's truth in this?

The list looks like a bunch of assumptions about causality based on correlation, but, hey, whatever blows your hair back.

This guy wrote a book called "Why beautiful people have more daughters" which was basically the above points. The book was originally Alan Miller's idea and he approached Kanazawa to co-author it, however, Miller died before they could get started and Kanazawa wrote it on his own. It turned out that he didn't do some of his analysis right and some of the so called findings are invalid. Take a look at some of the reviews of that book to learn more.
